In this third almanac I started to subvert the real world through the digital world and then to subvert the digital world with fragments of the real world. Using the SketchUp 3D warehouse, I looked at the ways in which popular culture – through Apps like Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest – appropriates and interprets official cultural narratives. I followed Wikipedia’s page structure and categories, highlighting text from the official Reunion Island Wikipedia page as key search words in the SketchUp 3D warehouse to explore how they play a role in reinterpreting culture. I selected the most relevant, most downloaded and most popular elements and used these to create scenes from the Fourth World, a populist view of architecture in its most narrow sense.
